Dan Millman: “Tomás González: A Great Example for Young Chileans”
Former world champion athlete Dan Millman gave a speech at the Novotel Hotel alongside the Chilean Olympian, Tomás González, where they shared their experiences related to their lives as exemplary sportsmen.
VITACURA — González admitted that his first years as an athlete were very difficult because he didn’t have the proper support to develop his career as a sportsman. “I didn’t have the resources to start my career properly, due to the high costs of the necessary equipment”, he stated.
Moreover, González said “if you want to pursue your dreams, you need to make some sacrifices in order to achieve those dreams. In my case, I don’t have an ordinary life. Most of the time I’m training, checking with doctors, and preparing myself physically and mentally for the next tournament.”
Nowadays, González is rethinking his goals in life and his professional career. “We are always improving and learning things every day. Now, I am waiting for new experiences to come”.
Furthermore, the Chilean gymnast highlighted that it was a great honor for him to share his experiences along with Dan Millman, who happens to be one of his role models in life. “It is very special for me to share this moment with Dan, who is my all-time idol.”
Dan Millman referred to his book “The Way of the Peaceful Warrior”, based on his own experiences as a sportsman and his great inspirational mentor Socrates, who encouraged him to better himself all the time.

For Dan, meeting Tomás was like sharing with an old friend, for they have so much in common. Moreover, he remarked Tomás’ way of life as an example that can be followed by the young generations.
