Final Days to Enter Chile’s Arqfilmfest Competition
Just a few days remain for filmmakers from all around the world interested in narrating the city to send their short films to the competition called “La Ciudad es …” proposed by the Architecture Film Festival for the second consecutive year.
SANTIAGO — Organizers of the festival, which started on 2012 as the only event existing in Chile and Latin America, say that they already have received films coming from Spain, Italy, France, Canada, Belgium, Russia, Brazil, Australia, Germany, USA, England and Chile.
They also highlight that filmmakers interested in this competition can participate individually or collectively , (they should be over 18 years old), creating short films related to categories such as Documentary, Fiction, Animation and Experimental, and Documentary and Fiction for feature films , which will compete in the national and international versions.
The audiovisual works made before January 1st, 2010 may participate in the selection for the “Sample” of the festival and the fragments of “Work in Progress” chosen will be displayed in a special section of this event.
Entries will be accepted until August 12, 2013 and the films selected by the jury of the competition will be announced in October, 1st. The selected films will be exhibited during the second version of Arqfilmfest, which will be held from October 17th to 20th, 2013 at Gabriela Mistral Museum (GAM) and Matucana 100. The closing day of the festival the winners of the different categories will be announced and honored.
The first successful Arqfilmfest version took place in October, 2012 at the Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral Museum (GAM), as part of the “Architecture Month”. It had close to 1,700 spectators who participated in the audiovisual exhibitions, seminars, workshops and installations.
