Eduardo Vargas Bound for Sao Paulo
Chilean striker Eduardo Vargas looks to be bound for Sao Paulo, with the Copa Sudamericana champions negotiating an agreement with Napoli and the player’s agent.
Cristián Ogalde, the agent who arranged the deal to take Vargas to Napoli spoke to Radio Gol, saying a move was “very likely”.
“I do not know if this is the last we’ll see of Vargas at Napoli,” Ogalde said, adding, “ The player just wants to play again in order to feel important.”
Sao Paulo are not the only club in Brazil to show interest, but look to have gained the upper hand in the race for the Chilean’s signature. A return to South America would allow Vargas to play in the Copa Libertadores.
Vargas left Universidad de Chile before having the chance to compete in South America’s biggest competition.
Brazil’s Globoesporte claims the deal is almost done and that he will be presented in the coming days.
