Chilean Arturo Vidal Among World’s Best Players
According to The Guardian’s top 100 player list, Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is among the best players in the world. Vidal was the only Chilean in the list.
LONDON, ENGLAND — Vidal appeared at number 57 in the list, which was led by Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
The Chilean has been a pillar for Juventus, who took last season’s Italian Serie A title in spectacular fashion. Vidal’s club form has failed to translate to the international stage, with attitude the key problem. In his last two outings, Vidal has been given an early exit by the referee.
There is no doubting the talent, however once Vidal returns from suspension, new coach Jorge Sampaoli will be working to make sure he can capture Vidal’s talent and aggression while keeping the temper under control.
Vidal’s attitude is also on show at club level, having racked up 12 yellow and cards as well as a send off in the 2011-12 season and already having six yellow cards to his name for the current season.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Xavi, Andrés Iniesta and Zlatan Ibrahimovic rounded out the top five behind Messi.
