“Kramer” to MC Final Teletón Show
Stefan Kramer will MC the final show for the epic Teletón fundraiser. Other confirmed artists include Luis Fonsi, Puma Rodríguez and Pablo Alborán.
SANTIAGO — The final Teletón performance this Saturday is sure to be a sight to see. Stefan Kramer, most famous for his movie “Stefan Versus Kramer”, will be closing the event.
The comedian has already prepared a special act for this year’s event, which should be both funny, and encourage people to get out their checkbooks and donate to Teletón.
“Stefan Versus Kramer” was only in theaters for two weeks before it became the most successful Chilean movie of all time. Kramer outdid himself in the film, convincingly embodying nearly two dozen different national and international public figures. It will be curious to see who appears onstage Saturday night.
The other confirmed artists for the show are Luis Fonsi, Matt Hunter, Paralamas, José Luis Rodríguez, Rosana, Gloria Trevi, Carlos Vives, Pablo Alborán, Chino y Nacho, Natalia Jiménez, Rock Bones, Lesli Grace, Deborah del Corral, Américo, DJ Méndez, Tomy Rey, Villa Cariño and Chancho en Piedra.
Last year’s Teletón exceeded all expectations. Although the legendary host, Mario Kreutzberger (aka. Don Francisco) expressed the difficulty of reaching the goal on several occasions, an astonishing CL$21,735,065,277 was the last count when the clock showed 1:19 a.m.
“When we can unite everyone, we can triumph like we did tonight,” said Don Francisco at the time of the last count of 2011. He then thanked the media, artists and animators who accompanied him during the long day.
Teletón is a gigantic fundraising event that has rallied the entire country around the cause of caring for sick and disabled children each year since 1978. Since its first edition, Teletón has raised over US$280 million and built nearly a dozen rehabilitation centers in numerous cities throughout Chile.
