Temporales Musicales Arrives in Valparaíso
The new version of Temporales Musicales, organized by Escuelas de Rock del Consejo de la Cultura and the Universidad de Valparaíso, will host free concerts from June 25 until June 29 in the Teatro Municipal de Valparaíso. Also featured will be documentaries made by a number of porteño musicians.
Different generations of musicians are going to join the three-day concert event. The first group playing is Watafyer Ex Orquest, who will play on Tuesday, June 26 at 7 p.m.
Then, from June 27 to June 29, the overture group in charge is going to be Auna. Then, the first band to play will be Terapia Grupal (experimental rock or “avant” rock) at 7:30 p.m. followed by the groups Oloralabanda and Umbría en Kalafate.
On Thursday the theme will be funk. The groups playing will be Pichanga, Molo and Kafarenass. The show is going to end with the local band Ocho Bolas,who have more than 20 years of experience playing Chilean punk rock music.
On Friday, visitors will be able to enjoy Taira Pizarro and the blues of Jorge Jiménez and Rompehueso. Then, Los Blue Splendor are going to start “Temporales musicales” celebrating their 50 years of music, playing their popular songs “Verano sin amor”, “La ventana” and “Ritmo a go go”.
Music documentaries
Additionally, on Monday, June 25 in the hall of Consejo de la Cultura (Sotomayor 233, Valparaíso) there is going to be an exhibition of documentaries. One of the documentaries is “La Vorágine”, directed by Marcelo Tapia. This film is about five young boys that give their life for the popular band Los Jaivas.
The audiovisual works will continue until Friday between noon and 6 p.m. One of the samples is “Tryo, entre dos mundos” and is about the band that was born in Viña del Mar in the 1980s. Other samples are “Congreso, 40 años de música” and “Payo Grondona”.
