Amanda Muñoz is 11 years old, she lives in Santiago with her family (parents and brothers) and has always had a special interest in opera, theatre and ballet. She suffers from a congenital disease that has caused her to gradually lose her eye vision, and can only see a distance of 1 meter.
Amanda’s kind and gentle personality convinced Make-a-Wish that she was meant to be a ballerina. Her longing to watch a live ballet presentation came to an end when Make-a-Wish Chile and the Santiago Ballet Company granted her wish. Not only was she able to watch this amazing presentation, but she became a part of it too. Amanda was given a ballerina outfit by the cast members of “The Nutcracker” the moment she arrived to the Santiago Municipal Theater, and was later invited to be a part of the show and actually act in it. After her act was over, she was greeted by the entire cast of the show lined up on a staircase, congratulating her with a grand applause and was then given a special gift inside a box, the nutcracker.
Make-a-Wish volunteers proceeded with giving her another ballerina outfit for her to take home, making this day even more special. During her wish, Amanda was able to touch the hearts of cast members, volunteers, and family, confessing to many that this had been “the best day of her life”. To top it all off, Amanda had such a great performance, that she was invited back for a second show!
This has been a great wish come true that has shown us that there are no limits when it comes to a wish from the heart.
